简介
Following the release of her first Malay single in Singapore, Amni Musfirah is soon to release her first English single in the United States entitled New York High. She has been writing songs ever since she was twelve but her trip to New York and her experience of being 10,000 miles away from home inspired her to write a song that talks about being lonely in her favorite city. Produced by Sadie Currey, the track has captured the personality of Amni and New York with such great sensitivity. As she belts out her chorus, “I’m in New York where the sound is always new”, the tone is bright and hopeful but as she approaches the hook, the song turns solemn with “But they don’t put me in a New York High… Not like you do”, reflecting the alienating effect this loud and vibrant city has on her with the absence of her lover. In scope of palette and composition, this single is a leap forward for Amni musically as she begins to take charge of her craft in music production, arrangement and songwriting. New York High is definitely a promising debut single that defines Amni’s musical identity and direction as she moves forward with her career.
