Ronell Johnson is a multi-instrumentalist whom embodies the soul and vigor of his hometown and birthplace...New Orleans, LA. He has been raised in the family tradition of New Orleans Jazz and Gospel music, much of which he learned playing with his family band, The Coolbone Brass Band, which is largely compromised of his three older brothers, uncles, cousins, nephews, friends, and also his wife. In addition to playing with many different jazz bands in New Orleans, Ronell's roots are also in the churches where he has played the organ and piano as well as various horns and drums. Ronell is presently the trombonist/vocalist/sousaphonist for the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and travels the world (as he has been since the age of 12) spreading the joy and essence of New Orleans culture to everyone and now he is introducing his debut Traditional Jazz album entitled "That Gentilly Swing" which features some of N.O.'s greatest musicians and classic tunes that surrounds the listener with the joy and culture of The Big Easy!!
