Melisha is the combined efforts of singer/songwriter Paul Brown and producer Jon "Jkon" Kump. They met in 2009 at Georgia Tech and began experimenting with many different styles and genres. "We didn't know what we wanted to create we just wanted to make something different. We probably made close to 100 demos, but once we made Sleepwalking we knew what Melisha was supposed to be. - JKON" They released the self titled Melisha EP in April 2011 with Sleepwalking as the first single. The group took a break to work on other items in 2012 but is back in the studio releasing singles in 2013. AP Music lists this group as "One of the ones to watch as breakout in the industry in the near future".
