简介

1.) What city and state are you from? We are from Tulsa, Oklahoma 2.) What is your music background? 1-Gee: I never played any instruments. I actually was drawn into music by hip-hop. I thought I was a DJ. I would buy records and try to emulate the New York DJ's. I would also listen to rap songs and eventually I started rewriting verses from some of my favorites. Deeks was much better than I was at cutting and scratching. That led me to realize I should stick with rapping and let him DJ. Deeks: I played drums in the band so it was a natural progression for me to ultimately start making beats. I went from being the DJ to creating all of the music for our projects. 3.) Why do you want to record and release your own music? That’s a great question. We want to record and release music for a number of reasons. One being that we have an incredible passion to create music that people can relate to. We also use our music as a therapeutic release because we are able to share our life experiences and impart words of wisdom. Finally, we feel that we can make a positive difference in the lives of our fans because they will be able to find something in our music that resonates with some aspect of their lives. 4.) What are your songs about? Our songs have a variety of topics; we promote the acronym H.W.P.O. meaning Hard Work Pays Off. Our songs encompass the true essence of life music. You will laugh, cry, celebrate, think, reflect, grow and learn when you hear our songs. We make it a point to have substance in our songs. This allows our fans to not only feel the kick of the drums, but also feel the power of each story being told! 5.) Who are your musical influences? We have been influenced musically by the likes of Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Prince, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, R. Kelly, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar. 6.) How would you describe your music to people? We would say our music is timeless. Our music is a powerful blend of hard hitting kick drums, soulful grooves, hypnotic melodies, and lyrical content that is full of substance. 7.) What makes you stand out from other artists? What makes us stand out from other artists is the fact that we can bridge many gaps and cross many boundaries. We can share the same bill and be played in the same club as Rick Ross or Drake, but also share the same bill and be played in the place as Kirk Franklin or Lecrae. We believe this is true because our music and message resonates in the streets as well as in the pulpit. We are also truly inspired to lead by example as it relates to the power of substance in hip-hop. We believe beyond a shadow of a doubt we can and will deliver mainstream hits, club bangers, and street anthems with out ignorant lyrical content. 8.) Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in your music career and how did you overcome? One of the hardest challenges for us was coming to the realization that we were going through a period of burn out and subsequently taking a break from recording music. It was crazy because we never said anything official like "Hey bro I don't won't to make music anymore" we just stopped, days turned into months and months into years. We overcame this issue and started to get the hunger again when we discovered how successful our previous CD's were selling. I guy named Trevor contacted us and explained what was going with our music internationally. He told us that people overseas were paying over $500 for our CD's on Ebay. That really motivated us and we decided to jump back in and not only make great hip-hop music, but also make a difference. 9.) What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on? We are preparing to release our next single and video, which is our ode to success, entitled "Bout That Life". This song is already receiving great feedback and some are saying is an instant classic. The song is the lead single from our upcoming CD "No Hate Zone". This track reflects the present status in life that we hold; we feel we are in a real good place in our lives. We avoid negativity, stay away from haters, and stay focused on achieving our goals. The track features a great female vocalist Leah Joelle on the hook. “Bout That Life” is a great song and deserves to be heard by the masses. We also plan to shoot videos for most of the songs on the "No Hate Zone" project. We feel this is our best work yet and the songs tell stories that need to be both seen and heard. We will also continue our work with youth via motivational performances and continue to impact the lives of people with our 20/20 Movement. 10.) What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Our career goals are to establish the brand of Playya 1000. This means that we achieve success in the industry by creating chart-topping music with out sacrificing substance. We open the door for more hip-hop artists to follow in our footsteps, thus providing the general public with more options of hip-hop to choose from. In 10 years we see ourselves still firmly entrenched in the music scene. We plan on developing acts that will keep our 20/20 Movement alive and well. We will also start a foundation that will allow us to become philanthropists and continue to contribute to the greater good. 11.) How can fans access your music and contact you?
