简介
Categorizing Lou's music is, frankly, a futile endeavour. He looks ordinary enough, but it's a defense mechanism. Never judge a book by the cover. Or by the 1st chapter. Or the 2nd,for that matter. Each one is a new idea. Each tune is separate entity. Rock,jazz,country,reggae,blues,noise,punk,christian,metal,polka,rap- just words, coined by critics trying to name the unnameable. Mark Twain said that critics are like eunuchs--they know just how it ought to be done. Lou has made a career of ignoring the critics and the genres just being a musician who shows them how it ought to be done. He refuses to be defined, readily switching hats from guitarist to bassist, to keyboards, to audio engineer, to drums, vocals, harmonica, writer, composer, arranger... Possibly the result of learning very early that the only permanent thing is a state of change--in music, and in life. He attended thirteen different schools during the first nine years of his education. Was twice nearly gunned down by age 15. Turned 16 in jail. Turned 17 in Canada, aiding and abetting a U.S. Army deserter. At 19 helped organize a shelter house for runaway teens, the first of its kind in Texas. Entered the military at 20 and by 23 was granted Top Secret security clearance- (earlier activities notwithstanding). The only constant through it all was a deep dedication to music. Thousands of gigs--millions of miles, he's appeared border to border and coast to coast--in an Elvis tribute act sanctioned by the Elvis estate--a blues act in Kansas City, a hardcore blues town--cornball hoedown in Branson, bop jazz in the Midwest casinos, classic rock all over the map. Tech geek-wine maker-chameleon-the changes continue--- What kind of music does this guy make? Listen for yourself--see where the changes take YOU.
