In the summer of 2008, I had an inspiration. As a Roman Catholic, I thought there was plenty of music for the seasons of Lent, Easter, Advent, and Christmas, but not much for the season of Ordinary Time. That's when I decided to write songs for the Gospel readings in Cycle A of Ordinary Time. It took me 3 years to write all 34 songs, which mostly come from the Gospel of Matthew.

My goals were to 1) to have the lyrics reflect the words of Scripture 2) to try to write in a variety of styles and 3) to have fun the process. This volume includes the first 17 songs, with the next set soon to follow.

A big thanks to God, who makes all things possible; my wife, who is my first and biggest fan; my family, who has always supported me, Tom Malewitz, who encouraged me to keep making music; and Brad Forbis, who helped me produce and record these songs (on a budget ;)
