After the surprise success of their first single, “Giuseppe,” Atlanta band Trash Panda immediately began work on a full length album to follow the release of the “Off” EP. Quickly generating 18 song ideas, one stand-out song seed carried the title “ATL Girls.” As the band wrote and recorded 14 of those initial ideas, they dropped and added several songs, eventually landing on 11 finished tracks for their debut LP (soon to be released.) First in line as popcentric single came the new Atlanta anthem, expressing a love-hate relationship with Atlanta's bar scene and the relationships it engenders. The band is known for their DIY attitude and their insistence upon home-recording, and Atlanta Girls is no exception. It was recorded in a house lovingly dubbed “the treehouse” just north of Atlanta, where the band exercises its belief in capturing good energy over technical perfection.
