简介
Stanley Cornfield is a Vancouver acoustic guitarist, composer and songwriter. He is also well known as a jazz lyricist, having written words for tunes by jazz greats Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Keith Jarrett, Tadd Dameron, Miles Davis and Steve Swallow. His lyrics have been recorded by artists such as Mark Murphy, Debbie Cameron, Denine Monet, Giacomo Gates and many others. The Seawall is Stanley’s tribute to the Vancouver, British Columbia seawall and the warm unadorned sound of his Martin 0018 acoustic guitar. Having received his arranging and composition training at the Berklee School of music, he has written and arranged all the tunes on the CD, which range in style from Chet Atkins- like fingerstyle tunes to pieces that evoke the simple classical elegance of Erik Satie. The music is warm, tuneful, relaxing and uplifting and is enjoyable for everyone from guitar music lovers to professional musicians. All the tunes (with the exception of "Little Bells") are orchestrated with the accompaniment of a variety of instruments that complement the acoustic guitar sound. He is joined on this CD by many notable internationally recognized musicians including Buff Allen (drums), Rene Worst (bass), and Stephen Nikleva (electric guitars and ebo) and more. Presently his music can be accessed through CD baby (http://www.cdbaby.com/) and he can be reached at (theseawallmusic@gmail.com). Enthusiasm for The Seawall: "we loved it , really chilled us out"; "wonderful, it takes me to my happy place every day!"; "guitar playing is exemplary"; "elaborate artistry,. . . I'll be playing your CD a lot over time."
