The title “Hiding in the Basement” was a 3am personal joke that stuck. My very first time uploading this material to itunes it asked for an artist name and album title. Brandon (me) decided to be “Big Daddy B” and since the music was made in the basement…”Hiding in the Basement.” The title track was written after the title. A little backwards. More songs came there was a distinct split between the “country” flavored material of “Big Daddy B” and the rocking music that came to be “BSBE.” My songs are mostly not “autobiographical” but do draw on my experiences as a father, husband, and world class fool. The exception is Box of Memories, which is directly about my girls growing up. “Big Daddy B” is a solo effort. All tracks are written, played, sung, and mixed by Big Daddy B, aka Brandon Scott Bittner. (Me) Christmas of 2015 brought a banjo into the house, and that made its way on to several tracks, adding to the country sound and feel.
