American singer-songwriter Karina Noelle Barroso, who goes by the stage name “Karina Noel,” was born in 1995 in Chicago, Illinois. Karina grew up playing the piano and began composing original songs at 11 years old. After learning to play piano by ear and writing nearly 100 songs by the age of 13, Karina began recording her own music at age 14. She recorded and released 3 original songs during her high school career, and now studies Music Business at New York University in lower Manhattan. Having grown up in both Chicago and Miami, Karina mentions, “Being exposed to my hispanic heritage and the different environments in each city helped me develop my work with different styles until I started to learn what I liked the most.” During the summer of 2014, Karina recorded songs both in Boston and Chicago for her debut EP, “Blue Collar Love.” The EP presents 4 original compositions which reveal haunting melodies, developing character, and true heart.

“I’ve always admired musicians who could play music that disclosed a part of the their inner soul. I enjoy the intimacy in my music.” says Karina. Her style resembles artists like Ed Sheeran, Lorde, and Sara Bareilles, mixing both pop and soul. In the coming months, Karina Noel will be playing shows throughout New York, and will be recording her second EP in the summer of 2015.
