简介

Evil- a: morally reprehensible : Sinful, Wicked b: arising from actual or imputed bad character or conduct Good- a: of favorable character or tendency. Throughout history mankind has always been in constant conflict with the powers of evil: Vlad the Impaler, Ivan the Terrible, Mao Tse-Tung, Joseph Stalin and Genghis Khan are a few examples of this tyranny. In the end, the good in man eventually wins. All of this, however, begins at the center of us as human beings. Good and evil are merely the forces that divide our souls. We have the power to choose which side we serve and the power to choose which side controls us. This is the battle that was recognized as a life long conquest in the eyes of a young and restless Apostasy. Apostasy was born on June 13, 1981 in Aurora, Colorado. As a Colorado native, his father raised him in atheism condemning the thought or belief that God existed. At the age of nine, Apostasy’s father up and left leaving only his wife to take care of the young boy. Being unable to fully support the both of their needs, Apostasy’s mother continuously moved the two of them from apartment to apartment. Facing eviction after eviction, both mother and son were forced to live in their small car and occasionally the cheapest motel they could find. While living on the streets, Apostasy was forced to learn life’s lessons on his own. His only means of self-expression was music. It was at this point he took the name Apostasy, which means renunciation of a religious faith. He had to abandon the teachings of his father in hopes to find a true faith in God. Influenced strongly from the growing popularity in hip-hop and rap, Apostasy began to vent his anger and frustration on paper. He wrote his first song when he was ten years old. Upon seeing how the expressive thoughts offered refuge from hatred growing inside him, he quickly developed his craft refining it constantly as the years progressed. In his late teenage years, Apostasy struggled to keep himself out of trouble. Having no father figure to guide him in the ways of life, he failed to make wise decisions and found himself in repetitive confrontation with the law. Being faced with unavoidable ultimatums, Apostasy was left no choice but to remove himself from a normal life for the pursuit in a career in music. In 1998 Apostasy recorded his first track with a friend and fellow artist (Lucid). An acquaintance of Apostasy, a local producer, provided them with the tracks they needed to complete an album. But after much work and studio time, the project collapsed and was never released. Soon there after, Apostasy and Lucid met an aspiring artist (Hypnautic) who knew another local producer (Chooch) that could provide the means to complete a full album. Within a year and a half the project, (“Apostasy- Philly the Kid”), was completed and released in limited quantities. After completing his first album, Apostasy, Lucid and newcomer Hypnautic formed the rap trio formerly known as “Tormented Religion.” The significance of this name was devised by Apostasy as a representation of a theological belief that there is a higher power (God) in charge of all things and that there was a polar opposite (Lucifer) trying to destroy those things. After being stigmatized by various organized religions for his appearance and attitude, Apostasy felt the need to pursue God on his own and realized that everyday was a test. It was up to him whether he chose right or wrong and understood everyone had an equal choice to make. With this in mind, he came up with the name “Tormented Religion” in hope of providing people a common understanding for how he portrayed life, spirituality, and world history in his writings. Everything had relevance and the three rappers came together to show the world how they felt. In 2004, under new management, Apostasy and the rap trio was introduced to a producer (Coop / Vindictive Rhythm) who was new to hip-hop production. Working along side this producer; Apostasy, Lucid, and Hypnautic developed their first product under the name, “Tormented Religion” and entitled the album, “First Entry Baptism.” The album was duplicated and released in 2004 and introduced the trio and their team to the Denver rap scene. Being new to the industry, “Tormented Religion,” was deceived by mislead by there scandalous manager which provided vital lessons for survival in the music business. “First Entry Baptism” failed to be a success being it was the group’s first attempt at creating an album together. It was time to head back to the studio to start the next project, “Tormented Religion- Sworn to Torment: The Second Coming.” Six months of hard work and a lot of effort seemed to finally pay off for Apostasy and his trio. Their second project provided local recognition amongst other Denver artists and opened doors of opportunity for the group. However, due to internal issues the, “Tormented Religion” disbanded and “Sworn to Torment” was never given the chance to succeed. In 2005, only Apostasy and Hypnautic remained from the aftermath of what was “Tormented Religion.” Coop (Vindictive Rhythm) and Chooch (The Nutthouse Studios) stood by their side in hopes of producing one more attempt at a successful project. With dreams of getting a recording contract, Apostasy and Coop began to produce their third album. Being separated by many miles, Apostasy in Colorado and Coop in Maryland, the lengthy process of long distance production finally proved rewarding when the album came to a close in the fall of 2006. The new album entitled, “Apostasy: The Lone Wolf,” featured multiple artist with world recognition including; Bizzy Bone of “Bone Thugs and Harmony,” and Young Droop, a California based artist. This album also included many Denver artists such as; Julox, Nominee, Quija and Harmony of “Born Unified Mobstas,” Cay Co, The Notorious Prime Playas and Elijah, all of whom obtain a deadly lyrical caliber. Unknowingly, Apostasy had a product that catapulted his team into the present success they currently have. “It could not have been made possible without the help of the team,” Apostasy says. “Without Chooch, Coop, Hypnautic and all the local artist and fans who supported us, this would never have been as huge is it is.” Currently Apostasy is still working with Coop and Chooch with the intent of starting a new project in fall, 2007. “We are hoping to really get some industry recognition with this new one,” Apostasy states. “We’re going to hit them hard and force them to put their ears to Denver’s local music scene.” Hopes and dreams are becoming reality for Apostasy and his team of dedicated producers and certified ProTools Engineers. Don’t be surprised if you see the name Apostasy start to surface on the Billboard charts within the next couple of years. Be on the lookout for new tracks as the second Apostasy solo album is being constructed.
