简介

Plus Plus is proud to present their first various artist compilation, titled Spring Sampler 2014. For this compilation, we had our artists create songs based on a theme: what would you play after the club closes? What will keep the people dancing past sunrise? We must say, our artists hit it out of the park on this one. But dont take our word for it have a listen and see for yourself. In the meantime, heres a little info on each song: Llieno / Confined (NYC) Dark and dubby with a touch of melancholy added in for added mood. A subdued approach, but one that chugs along nicely with a sub bassline that throbs and subtle strings that pulse with the groove. Josh Winiberg / Lost in Time (Essex, UK) Johss approach is different and refreshing all at the same time. Letting the kick take a back seat, the track is definitely carried along by the big bass line and smooth percussion groove. The chords add some body to the mix while the airy pads give it direction and movement. Florinsz Janvier / The Compound (Amsterdam) With a straight forward, industrial-esque drum groove, here is an example of restrained energy with its punishing, almost jack hammer distorted hits, and its deep sub baseline that rolls throughout all while being punctuated with gentle synth melodies and pads over top. Re-Drum / Symmetry (Toulouse, France) Leading off with hypnotic chords and a punchy bass, Symmetry is primed to move that dance floor with its tight drum programming leading the way. The track paces itself, but has a surprise in store before kicking it up a notch to close out the track. Alejandro Romero / Missing P (South America) A moody and eerie track, this one has a funky, low slung groove that will hook you in from the start. With a warm and loose drum groove, it gives you room to move and get locked into the groove. The pads over the top create a subtle atmosphere, filling up the space perfectly and creating a mood that is haunting but still functional all the same. Jason Bay / Seaside View (Milwaukee, US) Jason provides a touch of bounce to the EP with some spacey, tripped out synths to boot. With a stripped back analog drum groove and a throbbing sub baseline, Seaside View has all the tools for a late night chugger, but the beauty comes in from the spaced out synth lines over top that accent the track to help balance out the mood and atmosphere. Colin Coakley / Premix (Milwaukee, US) Premix kicks off with a funky talking synth line and drum groove that skips along and gets your head nodding. With subtle atmospheric synths to accent the mood and haunting, dubbed out vox stabs to give it character, this track brings the funk back to the party. Towards its closing, an infectious skipping synth makes an appearance and lock you in before giving the bassline its own space to flex and leave its mark. James High / Got It Like This (Milwaukee, US) James provides an original that is all his own, using big influences from the 80s abound. Bouncy, analog bassline? Check. Thick and creamy pads? Check. Big tom fills and Vocoder Vox line? Check and check! Time to move. Jason Bay / Room 2414 (Milwaukee, US) Feel the love for 70s funk and RnB with a stripped down organic drum line led by a congas and toms. With the funky bassline, warm, buttery chords provided by the iconic rhodes and the lustrous acapella, you can almost feel the passion from that night oozing out of the speakers. Asher Diamonds / Dont Hold Me Back (Milwaukee, US) A very simple approach that is executed flawlessly, Asher starts off the track with some warm chords and a tight hat groove before introducing the kick and vocals accents before dropping everything and introducing the bassline. From there the track drops back into the groove with heavenly bells while Ashers vocals come out front and center. From there the track doesnt let up, locking you into its feel good vibes until the very end. Echdroides / Star Walker (Chicago, US) Here is a full on, authentic New Wave track full of live basslines, delayed drenched guitar lines, vintage synths and reverb drenched vocals to create a full on wall of sound that washes over you. And thats before the synth lead comes tearing in, leaving its mark before dropping out and leaving just the raw drum groove on its own before more of those vintage synths make their appearance. And just as suddenly as the drums disappear and the synths start to fade, the track comes to its natural conclusion, and with it the end of Plus Plus first compilation.
