简介
Some songs are as timeless as romance itself and ‘Portrait Of My Love’ is definitely one of these all time classics. Written by David West and Cyril Orander, Matt Monro’s version of the song (produced by the great George Martin) reached number 3 in the UK charts in 1960. Some 50 years on, Bob Drury’s recording stays true to the original arrangement but is in no way an attempt to imitate Matt’s distinctive vocal. Bob says “The song holds a special place in my memories and I am delighted to have had the opportunity to record my own version. ‘Portrait Of My Love’ has become a permanent feature of my theatre shows and is always warmly received by the audience” The song has been released as a single on a 4 track EP by ‘Swing That Cat Music’ an independent label based in Kent, England.
