Orange County finally has a rap group that they can call their own. This is not your mainstream pop group or the beach rock that is normally associated with the self proclaimed "O.C.". This is something very different, something to add a spin on the way Orange County is normally viewed. The Calico Ridaz are the first rap group out of Orange County California to gain recognition on a nationwide scale, thanks to the phenomenal sales of their first two releases, Soldier Storytellers Volumes 1 and 2, Thorns of A Rose and Roots of A W**d. Which since 2002 has grossed sales in access of 15,000 units on the streets together. The groups two members Damon (D.Knox)Knox and Sean (Bullet Proof)Barnett hope to change the way the hip hop/rap is viewed by the world. Through innovative beats and visionary lyrics, the group gives an alternative to the repetitive lyrics and sounds of todays mainstream rap.
