简介
Lourdes Pérez Puerto Rican composer, poet, vocalist and guitarist Lourdes Pérez is known for her uniquely charged contralto voice and her ability to write emotionally rich songs about people, places, history and ideals. One of few female decimistas and "one of the finest Latin American vocalists and songwriters,” Pérez has collaborated with top artists across genre and language internationally for 25 years. In 2006, she was one of five musicians awarded the inaugural, unrestricted, United States Artist fellowship. Published and commissioned works include 9 CDs, scores and soundtracks for dance, theater and film and the illustrated book/CD, Dulce Vigilante: Remembranzas de la Región Oeste de Puerto Rico. Eva Ybarra San Antonio’s legendary Eva Ybarra is known the world over as “La Reina del Accordeón" (Queen of the Accordion). Ybarra is indeed a virtuoso of the accordion but is also a multi-instrumentalist, powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, composer and bandleader who has performed internationally for over six decades. Although her extraordinary talent and innovative style of playing the accordion has firmly established her as a Texas icon and a pillar of conjunto music (a genre traditionally dominated by men), Ybarra’s mastery of music is as expansive as the bellows of her accordion. Eva Ybarra’s life and work are the recent subjects of a theater production and a film is in the works. 1. Por las mujeres (Words: L. Pérez; Music: E. Ybarra/L. Pérez) - 3:19 2.
