Biography Kenny Kapone, a native Texan, hails from a crime and drug infested area located just inside of Dallas. As a young child he developed an interest in music, and he could be found performing in the choir in front of hundreds of parents and teachers. Early on, Kapone’s appreciation of music spanned nearly every genre including: Hip Hop, Rap, R&B, Classical, Country, Rock, and Reggae. As he matured his involvement in music grew as did the lure of the streets. During his adolescence he was involved with a local gang. It was the death of a friend that forced Kapone to realize that the gang-related street life would not take him down the path he wanted to travel. As his circumstance changed, so did his thought process about friends, future, and music. Kenny Kapone decided to use his music as a conduit to bring awareness to what was happening in the streets. He started daily rap battles during his free periods at school; his lyrical skills earned him popularity and attention of several of his peers. This led to networking with area DJ’s and club owners which inspired the birth of his party promotion company, Platinum Eightball Entertainment. Though Kapone’s interest in music crosses various genres, he favors Rap because it gives him a forum to express his rage, frustrations, and opinions about things that go on in the world. Kenny Kapone’s CD Weighin My Options, is a testament of his versatility, he goes from club anthems such as “Snap Wit Em” and “SweatDrip”, to the more seductive hip-hop ballad “Connected”. Kapone also gives his listeners songs like “War” and “SAVE DARFUR” as a means to perpetuate social consciousness by putting out the issues that affect people from the streets to the villages.
