I've been making electronic (for want of a better description), music for around 8 years. I started by making melodic tunes-I didn't know if I could write music at first-although having a limited background in classical piano helped. I composed tunes for guitar, piano and other combinations of instruments. I sent a tune off to a music magazine and, yay, they featured it on a cover CD and I got this write up :- "Once again! Another track that's crying out for a vocal. There's such a strong chord sequence and melody here. To take the string and piano lines and intertwine them with a lazy jazz club vocal would be superb. Anyone out there fancy having a go? The arrangement here is so delicate and simple. Whether by accident, necessity or design it's a charming, pure little tune - super-deceptively - conceals an amazing chord-change hook. We love the use of electric piano and...is that a zither? But no amount of delay and/or reverb can conceal that your string sound is rather static and preset. Know any string players? Handing this part over to a live real solo violin (likewise your super-simple drum part - to a drummer of course) would give this an earthy warm ""reality"" beyond the clearly ""desktop-based"" symphony it is currently. Still, great tune, great recording and a really beautiful piece of music. Thank you." I was so encouraged, I continued to write stuff. I liked writing tunes but after hearing the likes of Miro Pajic and Demas, I began writing deep tech, minimal,dance type music. I have had releases on Naviar Records, NuLogic and Klangscheiben, plus some plays on local radio and BBC Introducing.
