I grew up on Stewart Island (yes, go on and Google it) in New Zealand. I began to teach myself guitar when I was 11, and made my first records in my teens and twenties. Working in as a musician/singer in several countries, I came back to New Zealand in the mid 70's and have travelled extensively since then, gathering ideas for songs. Although I wrote and recorded a lot of songs in the early part of my career, I haven't done so for the past twenty years and now find the songs are comming much easier and more frequently. This EP- CD is the first venture back into the studio since then, and began as a few songs for family and friends. "The Wedding Song" was the first one we recorded for my brother's fiance, who wanted it to walk down the aisle to at their wedding in Fargo, North Dakota USA. That's a long way from Stewart Island I hear you say (cos I know you've been on Google finding out where it...and probably New Zealand is) and you would be correct, however the couple now live on Stewart Island. Just goes to prove Walt Disney was right. It is a small world after all! The songs covered on the recording have turned out to be a "warm up" to a full CD currently in production and due for release in mid 2010. (watch this space) or even Myspace. Back to the point.......... we stopped working on the "covers" cd when it became evident we had a lot of new material just waiting to be written. arranged and recorded.
