简介
Leah White & The Magic Mirrors captured the essence of the Christmas Spirit with children & families in this perfectly classic Christmas album with a fun twist. Leah White, a mother of three, writes all of her own music and takes her topics directly from her own experience with parenting. In order to get inspired to write songs for this Christmas album, Leah White, asked a group of moms at a gymnastics practice one day what they felt Christmas was all about. There were many different answers, but all of the anwsers are reflected in the songs on this heartwarming, witty album. In speaking with this group of mothers, the ones with younger children have kiddos afraid of Santa Clause and so "I'm Afraid of Santa" was born. "Snow Angel" was inspired by Hurricane Ike that just hit Houston/ Galvestion in 2008. In this area of the country children can't make snow angels and this song is about pretending to make snow angels "where it's hot and humid in 80 degrees". The songs are all inspired by families and my own family and it's fun as a songwriter to see which one turns out to be someone's favorite. Everyone seems to choose a different song. My personal favorite has been "A White Christmas" the song the album is entitled. My parents live in Lubbock, Texas and from Houston it's a 10 hour drive with potty stops. This song is about packing up my 3 kids and traveling across Texas. It's a personal song to me that my children and I will always cherish and that others will cherish as they make their long family trips home for Christmas to Grandma's house. Schools, parents and the media went wild over the release of this album and especially "Do the Wash" which is performed by Leah White &The Magic Mirrros year round. It's about keeping your hands clean to keep the germs away.
