简介

In the spring of 2004 destiny took hold of three lives that would be forever changed. Fresh out of Ocala, FL, Chris Johnson, like many others before him, moved to New York City in search of something greater. While out job hunting in the city that never sleeps, he crossed paths with another starving artists, Danny Dragone native to Virginia. Danny at the time was involved in a duo of acoustic rock musicians known as A.D.D. The other member of that group was none other than Joe Wachowski. Joe was a punk rocker straight out of the scenes of Detroit. Shortly after the introductions to each other, the three went out to Chris’s apartment in Queens and like flowing water, came up with their first song. The trio would go play in bars here in the city with no microphones, PA’s, or amps with Chris on the vocals and Joe and Danny on the guitars. After quickly having a crowd develop, the guys decided to aquire a bass player and drummer. Enter Dan Mandel and Matty Haskel. Still flying underneath the banner of A.D.D., the now five piece was playing shows all over lower Manhattan. Using the excuse of a shotgun wedding to get out of a mistakenly double booked night, the band decided that that would be the perfect name for the new face of Rock n Roll. Enter Shotgun Wedding. After selling out shows at the notorious CBGB’s and Snitch, the band felt like they were already living the dream. Keep in mind, these are five guys from different walks of life where people in their hometowns, get married and have children before they themselves are old enough to legally consume alcohol. Just like anything else in life, there are bumps and bruises along the way. Dan the bass player decided to leave Shotgun Wedding to pursue his career in photography. The wheels on the bus refused to stop moving. The band had a few fill in bass players to keep the band afloat. A little further down the road, the band respected Joe’s wish to go back home to Detroit to clear his head and try to get back to focusing on his play writing. The wheels keep turning. Shotgun Wedding picked up Matty “Tha Kid” Royes fresh out of Long Island to accompany the bass. Chris picked up the six string instead of getting a new guitar player to leave to door open in case Joe decided to return to the band. Joe had been there since the beginning, helped write a hand full of the bands songs, and was a dear friend to the guys. After three years of kicking New York City’s a**, Shotgun Wedding pressed up their long awaited debut album “S E V E N & SEVEN” which consist of seven Studio tracks and seven LIVE tracks. All songs on the record were wrote by the band as a collective force. All lyrics were written by Chris, Danny and Joe. The back bone of instrumentation to the songs titled Black Flags and Bleed were derived from the hidden guitar talents of the bands drummer Matty “Gunz” Haskel. Spanish Harlem was composed and written mainly by Danny “Dirty” Dragone. Chris “The Mouth of the South” Johnson wrote lyrics to Black Flags, The World I know, Enemy, Candy Scent, Tyme, Bleed, HOT, 18, and Never There. Every band has a story, this in a nutshell, is ours. Scars, guitars and Rock n Roll bars!
