Scott Carey wasn't kidding when he titled his album Long Road to Nashville. Aside from the thousands of miles he traveled to track the record, he hit some potholes along the way. From deep Southern roots and Rock n' Roll traditions, Carey was born and raised to be a Country Rock Star, he just didn't know it. Son of a drummer, music and band rehearsals were a familiar lifestyle for him. After several years on the drums and singing in the school choir, Carey got his first acoustic guitar at 15. He learned a Pearl Jam song and was hooked. Following high school, Carey started a rock band. He soon found himself in the lime-light, opening for Sublime, Primus, and Live among other popular rock groups. Carey brushed elbows with the industry's elite, including Paul McCartney, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kid Rock, and Madonna, who he escorted to the MTV music awards in 1999. After years as the frontman of his band, Carey set out to conquer a more fulfilling lifestyle in the deep South. He immediately found inspiration in Country Music and began writing songs with more meaning and from his heart. His love for Country mixed with his Rock n' Roll persona created Carey's unique writing style; edgy hard rock ballads meets whisky slinging honky tonk with a crossover twist. "Country Music has really taken my heart. Writing this album was a very gratifying experience and I hope that sharing these songs about my life will inspire others to live theirs to the fullest, and then some! These are songs about livin', lovin', laughin', and dyin' with a few drinks in between. This album is about my life and all the triumph and tragedy I experienced along the road." For two long years he traveled from Birmingham to Nashville recording his record at The Tracking Room with producer Todd Rubenstein from TMR Productions. Carey is scheduled to release Long Road to Nashville independently under his own label, Long Road Records, in 2012. Carey's long road to the top is just now getting started. He moved to Nashville in early 2012 and his music career is moving full speed ahead.
