The name The Dagons --pronounced DAY-gawns -- is taken from a half-man, half-fish creature worshipped by the ancient Philistines. The band’s name is one of their many references to mythology, fairy tales and the ocean. Goth-punk, noise-pop, garage, psych, & surf entwine with contagiously ethereal melodies to create The Dagons’ distinctive sound: raw music with a dark and haunting sheen. Karie Jacobson provides fuzzed out guitars and hypnotic vocals. Drew Kowalski plays thunderous drums and in the band’s most recent recordings has been adding odd and nightmarish Indian sitar to an already potent brew. The Dagons have released four full-length albums and gone on numerous tours in the U.S., Canada and Europe. With Upon The Dull Earth, The Dagons have created another unique world, hallucinatory and romantic, dreamy and apocalyptic.
