Dan's debut CD was written in a relatively short time span during much personal reflection. The melodies are beautifully written, reminiscent of earlier days when music used to take us to new lands, and lyrics lead us back to what we truly dreamed about and could hope for. It opens with 'The Father', a son's loving tribute to the memory of his father, as he too becomes a parent, and realizes the gift that he and his father had come to share. The CD continues with other songs, such as "You are the one", which reminds us of how another's love and humor are priceless gifts, while "If I Were", and "I will fly away" describe the fragile nature of love and loss. Dan began his foray into music at the tender age of 5, and with several years of piano, and cornet behind him, became a member of the fifth grade dixieland band The Swingin' Fifths". The "Sugar Beats" followed soon thereafter as life took a back seat to guitar and vocals (The Beatles were a huge influence]. From there, college coffeehouses, another stint with rock music, and then on to jazz and songwriting. Dan is living happily with his wife and 3 children, and has continued songwriting. He hopefully will release his next CD this coming spring.
