The renegade poet, linguist and songwriter Thom Moore is delighted to announce the release of only his third solo album in nearly 20 years. Titled Seven Things Aloom it features sixteen songs he has composed over the last 20 years as well as the classic 1979 recording of Cavan Girl. As way of a reminder of Thom's work he has penned many popular songs: Soldier On, Still Believing, Cedars of Lebanon, Saw You Running, The Scholar (aka Train from Sligo) and Carolina Rua which have all been covered on many Irish albums to date. The CD was officially unvailed on Monday, April 22, to a full house in Whelan’s, Dublin and Moore’s band of seasoned veterans (Gavin Ralston, Aongus Ralston, Brian Connor, Robbie Harrison, and Seamie O’Dowd) helped him to ensure that the evening, rare as Moore’s concerts are, was memorable in every way. A DVD of that evening plus other performances and interviews is currently in production and will be available in October.
