Making a great single is only half the job of an artist when it comes to a promotional push to sell an album. The other half is the art of performing and selling your single to a live audience. Hip Hop SeaZon’s CEO Michael Chillz set up all the showcases in a way where artist are forced to step up their live performances. They made it look easy and gave their celebrity judges a taste of what a premium Hip Hop SeaZon artist looks like. They will be going to the 6th annual Coast to Coast mixer in Miami next year to compete against top talent from around the country. "There’s no secret that the most popular song in HHS history is Ha-Style Feat. Skinny with “Sosa”, and that these guys are the best performers we have ever seen. It’s very hard to stand still when Ha-Style hits the stage and sets it off. The one thing he was missing was a strong music video to reflect the craze that went on when they performed. Well, on April 26th all that changed and they released a LEGENDARY “Sosa” Music Video. What’s great about this video is there’s no money being thrown around, No girls dancing around naked and no exotic cars that regular people can’t afford. It’s just raw street and stage footage. The video was shot and directed by our very own Roberto Garcia. He really captured that “Sosa dance” I am still trying to learn. The Highlighted parts from the video – like when Skinny shoots himself in slow motion – made the video epic. For those who are wondering what in the world “Sosa” is ?? … Yeah, so am I. I guess it’s goods or drugs that we shouldn’t have in the first place. There were also some very familiar cameos in the video, including Michael Chillz, King Ceazar and E Reign. It was kinda funny watching Michael do the “Sosa Dance” – I never knew he had it in him! All in all it’s a great video and my vote for video of the year!!" Interview Excerpt: When did you start doing Music? I started writing at 12 and started recording myself at 14. Tell us a little about your childhood? My childhood was a little rocky since a toddler, moved from house to house. Growing up, I was involved in things I shouldn’t have been for quick come ups. Shot at, bullet grazed my leg, stabbed by my right eye but I survived for a reason. Which artist do you share similar styles to? I try not to compare myself to other artists but from what I’ve heard, my energy & delivery reminds people of MJG & DMX. As far as flow, style, & lyricism I’ve yet to be matched to anyone. Who is your favorite rapper of all time? My favorite rapper of all time…I can’t really say I have a favorite maybe favorites. Rappers like Big Daddy Kane, DMX, 2Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Ludacris, Eminem. What was your most memorable moment at a Hip Hop Seazon Showcase? I was elated winning my first HHS title. Skinny Man Savage & myself said we not leaving empty handed on the way up so we just had to lay it all out on the stage. Who was your toughest competitor at a Hip Hop Seazon Showcase and why? Toughest competitor at the HHS showcase, I’d say Dirty Cash considering they had the crowd live in the first one I participated in. It was a few others at other showcases but I can’t remember names no offense. Where do you see yourself 3 years from now? 3 years from now, I see myself touring globally, with a platinum album under my belt and giving a voice to the voiceless. Any shout outs you’ll like to make? First I’d like to shout out my manager for believing in me. Shout Out to the whole Squad Gang movement, the whole DMV, the whole Tri-State area for showing love whenever I’m here.
