简介
Derek Dean first rose to prominence in the Anchorage music scene in August 2012 with the release of his band Easyhead’s debut album – The Beginning Of… As Easyhead’s lead singer and guitarist, Dean is also credited as the primary songwriter and lyricist. The Beginning Of… showcases Dean’s ability to write catchy, 90’s alternative rock inspired hooks - as heard in the songs “Heard It All” and “It Is What It Is”; in conjunction with heavier rock laced with string arrangements and chilling lyrics in songs like "Invisible to You" and "Phobia". Dean currently fronts the local rock band The Moonracers. The Moonracers debuted in August 2013 with their self-titled EP release. Dean collaborated with bassist and songwriter Billy Tango (formerly of Kill Tango) to put together 5 modern rock songs characterized by heavy bass lines, powerful drums, and Dean sharing vocal duties with Tango. Their second EP, Where Are You Now?, was released in June 2014. The Moonracers are currently playing on the local circuit. Dean’s latest EP – My Little Monster – his first solo project, was recorded at Wattage Studios in Anchorage, AK. Released in December 2014, these 5 tracks showcase Dean's signature songwriting style and guitar work.
