In the beginning of 1980´s he formed the group Bolon Bata. A group playing Christers tunes, and arrangements of hunter and Gnaoua music in a new way, later called world music. Bolon Bata was touring Sweden for many years, slowly transforming into the even more adventurous Bolon X. Increasing open forms and improvisation.
