简介
Catchy, upbeat and pulsing with a strong Bahamian/Caribbean vibe, this MP3 single was the inspiration for a corresponding music video, produced and directed by the same team that brought us "Who Let the Dogs Out" (by The Baha Men) and is featured on the new animated website www.amigothepotcake.com. The theme of the song, based on a real life canine hero, carries a "be kind to animals" message and spotlights a potcake dog, AMIGO ("potcake" is the name given to native Bahamian mixed-breed dogs) who was rescued from homelessness and given a life of plenty, becoming a superstar and hero in his native land as the 'potcake rep' determined to make the world a better place for potcakes and us all. "Amigo's Song" recounts his heartwarming rags to riches tale, building to a wild and joyous climax that celebrates this noble breed and the need for us all to participate in worldwide efforts to reduce animal suffering..... Sung by Bahamian musical legends Ronnie Butler and 'Sweet Emily' Austin, produced by Dave Mackey and featuring a talented group of local musicians, the song was originally recorded in the Bahamas and carries all of the 'Island Flavour....' The song's "sing-able" melody is guaranteed to stick in the minds of listeners and the recording's spirit of celebration brings to mind dancing on the beach, native Junkanoo parades, and swinging parties in the village square (to the beat to be sure...) The 'real life' AMIGO became an Ambassador of Hope for challenged animals and a worldwide commemorative stamp in his honor has recently been issued in the Bahamas, carving out his future as the "stuff of legends......" The album cover for the "Amigo's Song" MP3 was designed by Tony Frere.
