简介
In a scene where 'I'm a singer-songwriter' is said almost as often as 'Hey look, there's a Starbucks', Heather Combs has managed to rise to the top as one of San Francisco's finest. There is a rawness, a magnetism to Heather's voice and songs that's so rare, so captivating. When she steps onto the stage it's as if she is walking through your front door and sitting down on the couch in your living room to play song after song just for you. Her guitar in hand, spilling out words as honestly as she felt them the moment she first scribbled them down. Born in Gainesville, Florida and raised by wolves - wait, no, wrong story, sorry - Heather was always intrigued by music. Her prized possession as a child was a vinyl copy of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" that she carried everywhere - even after it warped. She knew every word by heart. Just ask the neighbors. Finally she found her way to a guitar and the rest is history. Since fleeing from the East Coast to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1997, Heather has released 3 critically acclaimed records in less than 5 years ("Guilty" in 1997, and "To the Good Times" in 2000 and "Feel Like Flying" in 2002). In the last year alone, she and her band have opened up shows for The Who, Kasey Chambers, Dave Alvin, Tom Petty, Steve Earle, Sheryl Crow, Stevie Nicks, Todd Snider, Joan Jett, Los Lobos and David Lindley. With Heather on guitar/harmonica/vocals, James Greenfield on percussion and vocals, Jeff Bordes on trumpet, Paul Everett on bass and Bob Tatum on drums, this is a band to be reckoned with. They thrive on the stage. They bring an energy so infectious it's hard to withstand. Go ahead and try. Before you know it, you'll find yourself laughing, moving and singing along. They aren't afraid to be real - to rip open their chest and bare all for the sake of the music. Each show is a roller coaster not to be missed. Whether solo or with the band, Heather's bare-fisted approach to telling the stories that we all know by heart is electrifying. Come on, jump in, let your hair down and enjoy the ride...
