简介
Indie rock/bedroom pop band from Columbus, Ohio. Trying began as the solo songwriting of frontman Cameron Carr. Rather than taking on a traditional rock band instrumental approach, Trying frequently uses instruments uncommon to the genre such as violin, glockenspiel, twelve string guitar, and melodica to create an eclectic range of sounds. The band for Cheerleading includes Brady Costigan on guitar and vocals; Kelsey Yappel on violin, glockenspiel, and vocals; and Nick Michael on drums, vocals, and a brief experimentation with zippers. At the heart of the songs is a songwriting tendency driven by indie music of the past: confessional and peculiar, desperate yet hoping. "The music is relatively quiet, yet full. Easygoing, yet assertive. And most of all, there’s a sort of coziness that settles in when you take part." -Tuned Up "The band utilise quirky instrumentation and irregular song structures to create sad-shaded indie pop." -Wake the Deaf
