Bruiser Queen is the collaborative effort of singer/guitarist, Morgan Nusbaum, and drummer Jason Potter. Formed in 2010, the garage rock and roll duo blends the late 20th Century riot grrrl punk stomp of Sleater-Kinney, the helplessly infectious songwriting of Tacocat, and the 60’s girl group shimmy of Shannon and the Clams - all while drawing frequent sonic comparisons to Pixies and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. They began winning over audiences in 2012 with the release of their first full-length album titled Swears, which preceded the highly praised In Your Room 7”/EP (2013 / Certified PR Records), and 2014’s Sweet Static (Boxing Clever Records). Album singles “On The Radio” and “Some Girl’s Ghost” were Village Voice Pazz and Jop chart winners in 2014. In the span of six years, Bruiser Queen has toured throughout the USA, including music festival features at Middle of the Map, Savannah Stopover, Valley of the Vapors, Mile of Music, and True/False. The band released a 7” single - “Telepathic Mind” b/w “Rainbow in the Dark” (Dio cover) via Certified PR Records in October 2016, and their next LP, Heavy High, is due out in November 2017.
