What happens when you mix an experimental Polish electro producer with a classic New York hip hop emcee? The Breadmakerz. The Breadmakerz are a new project from producer Deft Aphid and emcee Loki da Trixta. Deft and Loki first met through MySpace in 2006, they liked each other's music although their styles were completely different. In 2007 they decided to collaborate on a track together, the result was "One", a strange 'stream of consciousness' set of lyrics with drum breaks as haphazardly arranged as the flow. From that collaboration and based on other music they had independently produced, Deft and Loki decided that a more extensive project would be the next logical step. In the summer of 2008 Loki visited Deft in Piekary Śląskie, Poland and stayed with the Aphid family for about a week. In that short time they traded music and ideas, rocked a live show with Trooid, a live band (another of Deft's projects), and became friends. Since then they've been working on Electrograph the debut release from The Breadmakerz. Electrograph is a long EP, or short LP, with a sound as diverse as the musical backgrounds of the co-conspirators. With tracks ranging from club bangers, electrofunk, political techno and even a very funny 80s pop spoof, this project is sure to make waves. In the Summer of 2009 The Breadmakerz are set to release Electrograph and follow it up with a European tour. Their show incorporates live electronics, strange videos and the natural charisma of these two showmen. Be on the lookout for these two in a town near you!!!
