简介
Suicide Kings are a Calgary based hip hop group that formed in 2010 consisting of Producer Cole "King Cole" Young, and MC Jason "Joey Knuckles" Meller. Now known for their heavy, sample based production and well crafted, Detroit infused rhyme schemes, Suicide Kings got their start playing live in Western Canada. After a dozen local and provincial shows, the Kings had recorded and released the eight song album "Reign Supreme" in January of 2011. Immediately following the release, Suicide Kings secured a co-headlining position on the Apathy and Celph Titled full Canadian tour. As doors started to open for SK, they started writing what became their sophomore release "Crown of Thorns." Along with the relationship built on tour, SK managed to secure features from Apathy and Celph Titled (Demigodz), as well as platinum selling artists M.O.P., and star of HBO's Entourage/hip hop recording artist Saigon. Crown of Thorns was initially independently released on CD, and was picked up by Paris record label Knives Out Records later that year. The release formed into what was eventually a 12" picture disk vinyl that was a compilation of songs from Crown of Thorns, along with bonus tracks featuring Snak the Ripper and Danny Diablo. The 12" vinyl release gained SK notoriety across Europe, which has led to a European Crown of Thorns support tour taking place in February 2015. Suicide Kings have signed with California based label Panda Claw Records, with their third album "Rock 'Em to Sleep" being released on colored 12" vinyl early 2015.
