Young French minimal techno duo KitKalt present their second EP, Abyssal, set to be released under our very own label. Originally of Inertie Records, a label that describes themselves as 'property of the material that the body can not of themselves change their state of motion' Simon and Vladimir have implemented the technique of techno hypnosis to full effect. Subtlety is key to their sound. Abyssal opens with a track of the same name and it stays true to the definition. It's a dark track; heavy baselines are accompanied by understated effects that give a sense of deep ocean exploration to which the name of the EP relates. Anthemis is arguably the heaviest of the three tracks. Hypnosis is the name of the game here. The track steadily builds throughout it's 6 minute life span, never straying too far from the narcotic progression each rippling sound projects. A theme of water turns for the final track, Submerged. Nuance is again implemented once more as subtle stripped back vocals meet hard hitting baselines and deep sea-esque sound that truly maintain the underwater motif. The EP will be released on March 14th 2016 under SoundSpace.
