The sax/guitar duo of Jim Cameron and Gary Wittner has been thrilling audiences throughout northern New England for over twenty years. Together they represent nearly 8 decades of combined jazz performance on 6 continents worldwide. The musical connection of these 2 masters has been commented on numerous times, none more succinctly then poet/promoter Paul Lichter (Dimensions in Jazz- Portland, Maine) who said they "hear each other through the ear in the middle of their heart". The CD contains 3 free jazz pieces, 3 originals by Wittner, 2 T. Monk compositions, a solo piece by each musician, and several others. The title refers to a comment made to Wittner by jazz legend Steve Lacy referring to the act of making music and literally "disturbing the air". The CD was recorded the same year that the music world lost 2 giants - Steve Lacy and Ray Charles. Although not intended as a tribute CD, both of these greats are represented: there is one tune by Steve Lacy and another by David Newman who was as featured sax player with Ray Charles for many years.
