"Malina Moye is a definite platinum act and deserves attention from a major record label." -- Kedar Massenburg, Former President Motown/Universal Records In the fall of 2004 Malina's single "Alone" peaked at number 9 on the Billboard R&B/HipHop Singles Sales Chart, and 27 on the Top 100 Singles. Now Malina is eligible for four Soul Train Awards! The categories: Best New Artist, Best R&B/Soul Single of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and the "Michael Jackson" Award for Best R&B/Soul or Rap Music Video. MALINA'S STORY Born into an acclaimed musical family, Malina Moye has been singing, playing guitar, songwriting, and arranging music since she was 9-years-old. At the age of 12, she hit the stage and began performing professionally as the lead singer in the accomplished family R&B group Les Moye Ice. With Malina in front of the band, the group went on to play over 1,000 club dates throughout the world, winning numerous national and international competitions. Flipping a Fender Stratocaster upside-down as a lefty guitar player in an electrifying stage show, this 24-year-old soul siren has already worked with such multi-platinum Grammy-Award-winning artists as George Clinton, Prince, The Sounds of Blackness, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and *NSYNC to name a few. In addition to appearing in several music videos, Moye became part of the Sony writing team in 2000, and has since written, produced and recorded with many popular artists. As an actress, Moye has numerous television credits and on the big screen has worked with actors such as Nick Nolte in the Universal release Simpatico and has co-starred with Sinbad in the independent feature Wilted, garnering her several best acting nominations on the festival circuit. As a driven businesswoman, Moye is the founder and CEO of WCE Records which released her first R&B single "Girlfriend" in 2003 to great reviews and has recently followed-up with her second single "Alone" which entered the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B Top 100 Singles at number 11. The WCE team continually seeks out innovative artists and writers and anticipates releasing at least three more singles and two full albums under the label within the next 12 months. Moye is also President and CEO of Malina Calendars which produces and distributes specialty calendars including the tantalizing Malina 2004 and 2005 Calendars. After arriving in Los Angeles seven years ago with $20 in her pocket while living on water and two tacos a day, Malina Moye continues to hone her craft and build a brand name. Emerging onto the entertainment scene with a fervor she is here to stay.
