Leningrad Symphonies

Leningrad Symphonies

简介

Leningrad was the center of musical creativity during the Soviet era, and in the music of its final two decades, the shadow of Shostakovich can be heard - along with with daring expressivity and mostly suppressed but clearly simmering expressions of social tensions and the prospect of radical change. All of these elements are present in this program of three symphonies by Leningrad-based composers Orest Yevlakhov, his student Sergei Slonimsky, and progressive Yuri Falik.
