Jon Hendricks In 1972 Nancy and Spencer formed a musical alliance that continues to grow and flourish. During their tenure together they have worked with an incredible host of musicians including Phil Woods, David Liebman, Bob Dorough, Norman Simmons, Bill Goodwin, Al Cohn, Phil Markowitz, David “Fathead” Newman, Houston Person, Larry McKenna, Mike Melillo, Steve Gilmore, Jimmy Lewis, Jim Ridl and Steve Varner. This is Nancy Reed and Spencer Reed's 8th album. They have been performing together in more situations than is easy too imagine. They have played in other peoples bands and backed up other musicians and singers. Approaching their 40th year things are getting better and better. You can hear Nancy with renowned saxophonist Dave Liebman on their album "Neighbors" and with the Ellington Legacy Group on two albums. Spencer also produced Nancy's recording with legendary pianist John Coates "Live At The Deer Head Inn". You can hear Spencer playing guitar in Phil Wood's big band, the COTA Festival Orchestra on the album "A New Celebration" and on his own collection of blues based tunes on the CD "People Just Don't Like Me". Their other albums together include "Let's Fall In Love", "Blue Sunrise", "Melting Pot" and "Together".
