简介

Mark Lint (aka Linsenmayer) has been putting out albums since 1992. These songs recorded between 2011-2015 display the eclectic melodicism and dry wit that have been his modus operandi since day one. As host of the Partially Examined Life philosophy podcast, he has tried to release a recording (new or old) on every episode (i.e. every three weeks) since May 2009, and most of these songs were composed to (roughly) match thematically with some episode topic: A couple of songs deal with the weirdness of religion, one with the evils of the job system, two directly riff on classic works of theater ("Antigone" and Sartre's "No Exit"). The common theme is the disconnect between our needs and our situation... Life is hard, and many of our coping strategies are hilariously inadequate. All tracks were home recorded, but while many involve Mark playing all instruments, most brought in friends both local (Madison, WI) and through tracks submitted over the Internet by former bandmates and podcast listeners. These include Lucy Lawless (Xena the Warrior Princess), who joined for a duet on the touching "Things We Should Do."
