简介

Ams is a truncated version of the word Anonymous, the first name taken by said person in presenting himself in a Hip Hop context. IF? you've been in tune with one AmsUno for the last 6 or 7 years, you'd know anonymous is a word that does not describe him at all. Once the belligerently energetic angle of New England Indy powerhouse Clokworx, he put out two successful singles with Boston based CommonWealth Records ("Mental Flux" b/w "Top Choice" & "Preservatives" b/w "Robots"), all songs that contained stellar production by Celph Titled and D Tension. Clokworx not only assisted in initiating the Boston live circuit, but almost single handedly (under the umbrella of an existent TSS) paved the way for an existent world of Rhode Island rap. When Round Midnight, Chemistry, and avid shows at the Ocean Mist was the norm for Southern New Englanders, these cats Clokworx were right there on top, shining hard enough to earn them spots on the Lyricist Lounge tour. Both singles did more than well in both the Gavin and CMJ charts and out of no where Clokworx dissolved into unexplained answers and a disappearance of the explosive pairing of two uprising MCs. Ams continued on, releasing a 7 inch single ("Brain On Ams" b/w "Brimstone and Fire"), still on CommonWealth, then decided to step off into a more independent direction. After having Phes and Ams leave the label that helped nurture their young careers, CommonWealth released a full length Clokworx CD AND an EP/CD entitled "Amsthrax", complete with little to no artwork, weak distribution, and no interest from a public that already knew both projects were not approved and assembled works of the original composers. Ams nestled back into his original surroundings with familiar faces, feeling left behind by the lives of people he entrusted to have his back musically. He regrouped with a powerful set of individuals who all existed in the same boat as he did by way of Missing Elements, and once again bonds were formed and moves were made. Studios became common grounds for those of like minds willing to work together in harmonic unison. Tracks commenced to be laid down, shows started to get rocked on the regular, and all the individuals involved reintroduced themselves as a conglomerate set to remain Labeless. A slower road than Ams might have been used to years back, his newly formed do-it-ya-self methodology allowed him to create a project that reflects exactly who and what he is artistically. "The Day Of Devotion" is a dedication to the dedication Ams has for his music, life, past, present, and future. The project contains a strong amount of production from Esh, joints by Gibran, Missing Elements, and AmsUno himself. Plenty of slices and dices courtesy ala DJ Orator and guest vocals by Romen Rok, CasUno, Orator, JahFree, Missing Elements, and more. The promo only 7 inch pressing ("IF? It's OK? b/w "My Contribution") is the premiere piece of vinyl for Labeless Illtelligence, and no one is more deserving of that opportunity than AmsUno. An extremely energetic and passionate performer, a modern day New England stage legend in his own right, he continues to show case the liveness on the regular along side his Labeless famalam. IF? anyone in this crew has earned the right to cash in on dues paid, it's this man. No matter how disgruntled, disgusted, and disassociated Ams may be with Hip Hop, he remains faithful, dedicated, optimistic, and driven. What he brings to the Illtelligence movement is nothing anyone can put a title or price upon, nor replicate or plan/learn to incorporate. While the majority of his crewmembers juggle different aspects other than presenting their craft and subsequently falling victim to limiting artistic exemplification, he dedicates his time and energy into not only his Hip Hop craft, but those he entrusts to have his back musically. His project may be entitled "The Day of Devotion", but it's more than obvious Ams is devoted far more than just a day.
