简介

Ruby's Cafe is the newest selection of songs from Germany's premiere Singer-Songwriter Barry P. Foley. The Southwest Virginia native resides in Germany and performs in Germany and surrounding countries. He has won the German Country Prize "Singer of the Year" 2013. His previous CD "The Crooked Road" won the German Country Prize 2012 "Album of the Year" and contained "That Girl Who Sang Johnny Cash" the 2011 "Song of the Year" for 2011. Ruby's Cafe features the great voices of five International Country All Star singers in their own right. Danielle Poot of the multiple Dutch Country Music Association award winning band "Change of Key (The Netherlands) joins Barry on "When All Your Dreams Come True". From "Down-Under" is the classic singer "Ann Pascoe from New Zealand on "Fifty and Counting". Fellow American singer also living in Germany and leading Germany's Top Country Band 2012 is Daniel T. Coates. He duets with Barry on the Cash themed "Boom Chicka Boom" and he lends his musical talents for three of the songs on Bass, Acoustic and Electric Guitar. "Get This Crap Out Of My Country" features the King of Country Music in Poland Michael Lonstar, who gracefully add the TAG to "Heroes and Friends". And lastly the bold and beautiful Vivien Searcy of Sweden adds some down home blues flavor to "Time For The Blues". Down To The Islands and When All Your Dreams Come True are both remakes of songs from Barry's 2005 CD, "Daddy Was A Factory Man". An acoustic version of "Crooked Road" and a home studio production of "Daddy's Funeral" are included as Bonus Tracks. Ruby's Cafe continues the Troubadour tradition of offering a little bit for everybody. Mama's Biscuits and Gravy is a true life reflection of back home. Never Leaving Texas adds some Texas flavor to the CD and give the Garland Texas based studio musicians at McClain's Recording a chance to show their stuff. VFW and the Maiden's Prayer is Barry's way of giving the listener a little taste of his musical influence by paying tribute to the VFW Band and the great Bob Wills and Texas Swing. Although Maiden's Prayer has been a Texas Dance Hall standard since the 1930's, its origin dates back to around 1850 in Poland. As the liner notes says "From my heart to yours"...hope you enjoy it!!
