Tommy Hoggins' name is synonymous with classic 80s film soundtracks. These days, rarely will you be able to hunt through a charity store bargain bin of discarded video tapes of films you've never heard of, without seeing Tommy Hoggins' name featured in the credits. Films such as 'Geoffrey Stays Home', 'The Horse & The [Explicit Removed]', and the disco remake of the classic 'Man About Town', are all supported by the distinctive high-octane Tommy Hoggins sound. His pounding drums... his anthem-like chorus... the delicate touch of a reverb-drenched saxophone solo... these features all give the uplifting emotional punch that any training montage requires. His defining soundtrack, of course, will always be the seminal 'Step Up: 'Til U Throw Up' featuring Tommy Hoggins' "Go Go Go (Dance Dance Dance)". The epic Angry Dance sequence famously introduces such dance moves as "the thing" and "the squallop", and began the short lived fashion trend of belly sweat patches. The film is also considered groundbreaking for being the first dance film to feature actual vomit as part of its choreography.
