简介
Breakout track 'Let The Damage Begin' sums up The Exits and the progression that shaped the sound of their long awaited debut album. Inspired by bands such as Primal Scream, The Music, Hard-Fi, The Verve, Pendulum and Kasabian, the album spans from hard line indie to dance-electro that is reminiscent of early LCD Soundsystem, The Prodigy and Death in Vegas. The single features all the elements we've grown to expect from the band - driving beats, pumped up bass, synths and of course Ray's indelible coarse vocal. Initially signed up in a heartbeat by the Criminal Records team, their path to album release was been far from smooth. Some low points included personal and band crises, which put releases on hold. From early exposure such as being Kerrang! Radio's 'Ones to Watch' and MTV syncs deals to feature on shows that included Dirty Sanchez, the band won 2 music awards from their hometown station Express FM including 'Best Song' for debut single 'Neon City'. The Exits were soon supported on BBC Introducing and BBC London, but the in-band issues made for a steep and quick comedown. Some steady negotiations led to solo projects being sidelined - allowing for the band to re-unite for studio sessions and live shows. When the album goods finally arrived it was apparent The Exits were back in business. Their London re-entry show saw attendance from Boy George and Mark Ronson, with talk of music videos and festivals underway. 'Let The Damage Begin' summarises the hard work and sacrifices The Exits have made to get their music out there. Although the album release passed by in a flurry of Christmas hits, hard core supporters were quick to get onboard, with more credible press and radio now beginning to get involved. 'Let The Damage Begin' indeed.
