Hymns don’t get enough credit for their importance these days. But when I find myself alone with my thoughts or when I’m in worship it’s often the hymns of my youth that come to mind. The lyrics are uplifting and faith affirming. When coupled with gracefully executed vocals over a bed of heavenly contemporary music the marriage is not only a thing of beauty but divinely inspired. This song takes me back to a simpler time when the family would gather around the living room and sing the songs of Zion to bless God and each other in fellowship and in worship.
