简介
Artist Bio: Joey Figgiani (Fidge-e-on-nee) was born in Great Kills, a small town on Staten Island, one of the five boroughs of New York City. He has worked as a professional musician for over twenty years, mostly singing and accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, harmonica and tambourine. He is an accomplished songwriter who also plays drums and piano. He has performed and recorded music in close to half the cities across the United States-from Florida to Wisconsin, New York to California. His style varies from a blend of well-crafted and thoughtful singer-songwriter, pop-rock, modern folk, blues and vintage country that reflects his influences: the timeless music of the 50s, 60s and 70s. While living in Nashville he began sitting in at popular tourist spots: Tootsie's, Legend's Corner, and Rippy's. Figgiani eventually established a residence at The Hard Rock Cafe', and played dozens of writer's showcases at The Blue Bird Cafe', French Quarter Cafe', Cocktails, The Commodore Lounge and Caffeine. Other gigs out of the city, in Franklin, Tennessee, and other states like Georgia, Alabama and Illinois, led to a move north where he resided and performed regularly for several years. His 2004 album, “Under the Memphis Sun,” was recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis is for sale on itunes. It contains his versions of some of the blue-grass, country, rhythm and blues and gospel songs that were eventually combined to help forge rock and roll. Also included are three original tracks and a remake of Bruce Springsteen’s “Fire” (a song Springsteen wrote for Elvis to hopefully record). Three ad traditional tracks were recorded in Nashville, with Elvis drummer, DJ Fontana and Country Music Hall of Famers, The Jordanaires on backing vocals. In 2006 he released his first all-original album, "The Place Between Moving and Standing Still," also vailable on itunes. His second all original release, "Nostalgia" is available at reverbnation. Both records reflect the artist' diversity through a mixture of rock, pop, blues and americana. PRESS: - "Joey Figgiani is one of the best new singer-songwriters I have heard in the last 15 years.
