Antonio White (born July 23, 1987), better known by his stage name KANIN (pronounced Can’in), is an African American rapper from Compton, California. He has released many songs and mixtapes, including the “I Go By The Name Kanin” series, his most Recent project, “Old School New Sense”, and most popular single, “WinnerCircle”, featuring Kanins' childhood friend who he wrote his first rap lyrics with, Kendrick Lamar. Kanin was also in a campaign for ( MTVU's Freshman Artist Contest ). Kanin is also featured on various blog sites like HotNewHipHop, 2dopeBoyz and XXLmagazine just to name a few. At the age of sixteen Kanin played a small role in a low budget film called “Victims of the Ghetto”, written and directed by his uncles Jules Dupree and Antonio White. Kanin got to experience the “on set” lifestyle and the behind the scenes of film and music at a young age. His father Ralo White, helped build several studios and shoot many indie films, he also was a writer and entertainer at a very young age. This played a major part in Kanins’ interest and perception of the entertainment business. He became very creative, got together with his childhood friends Andrew Thompson and Daunte Bullock created Rydazz Entertainment and started to pursue a career in music. Kanin plans to continue to take the independent route in the music business; being that this route is more profitable and liberal,his ambitions and entrepreneurial mentality have landed him many up coming opportunities that his fans have yet to see.
