The latest release from AR Records, ARR07, is a 7” vinyl single. “Oh Sarah” b/w “So Shoot Me”. Brother and sister, Richard and Audrey Riley, recorded in live takes during one session in Rutland. Mastered by LA mastering genius, Don C Tyler, and with artwork, continuing the series, by Toby Cornish of Jutojo, Berlin. The two songs, written by Richard Riley, are taken from a set of four, recorded over a few days in 2013, recording to capture the moment. No computers, no editing. Drums and backing vocals only added as over dubs. Featuring Richard on guitar and vocals, Audrey on ‘cello and vocals, for the b side they are joined by Nick Allum (Fatima Mansions, Apartments) on drums and JJ Quick on bass. After 30 or so years as arrangers, producers, writers and sides-men in the rock industry, too busy playing for other people to actually work together, Audrey and Richard finally came together to record the four songs, because there was an opportunity to, and Richard wrote four songs specifically, intended as ‘duets’. There was no intention to release. But three years later, a few people have listened, and encouraged, to at least let these two become available on AR Records. Continuing the philosophy of Audrey’s new label, the catalogue number, appropriately 07, and sleeve image, found themselves.
