Grenadian Artist Brother B's 5th album. In 2012 Brother B was nominated for the NAACP image awards in Hollywood for his 'Carnival Fever' album for Outstanding World Music album. This album 'Diversionary' captures the fun of Grenada Carnival, the fun of living in Grenada and the spirit of Soca music around the world. Brother B was born in Grenada, West Indies and raised in St Mark’s. He starting singing at an early age and spent nine years singing reggae in Grenada, taking part in singing competitions around the Island. He won all the competitions but found that singing Reggae in Grenada wasn’t fruitful and decided to enter the Soca arena. In 2007 Brother B teamed up with legendary producer Jimmi King of King Beat Studios in Grenada and went on to win St Mark's Soca Monarch in 2007 at the age of 23. Brother B also got through to the semi finals of Grenada’s Soca Monarch of the same year. His tunes Pork, Explosion, Carnival Start, No Horn and Give it to you are hits across the Caribbean, UK, USA, Canada and parts of Europe. Parang Season 2007 Brother B’s track ‘Pork for the Christmas’ was an instant hit alongside, Hard Whine and Living in Love again with constant play across the waters. He appeared on Jimmi King Grenada Parang album in 2007, which was distributed in the UK, and an instant seller. Brother B has performed alongside fellow artists in Grenada and counts Capelton as one of his influences. Brother B has a unique voice, which sends the ladies crazy. Brother B started the 2008 season with a huge track called ‘Ah Little Wine’ which sent people into a dancing frenzy in Grenada and across the world. His second track ‘Mama cry’ is about the pain and suffering a mother goes through when losing their child to gang violence. Other tracks include, ‘Bad Like We’, ‘Wine Down’ featuring Mr Killa, ‘Little Wine’ the remix featuring Lava, ‘Loose’ on the Beat it Riddum. These tracks can be found on his debut album ‘More Fire’ which was released Autumn 2008 and available to buy online through www.specialist-events.com and Record Stores in Grenada, UK, Sweden, USA & Canada. The 2008 carnival season, Brother B has performed alongside Allison Hinds, Bunji Garlin, Faye Ann Lyons and other greats in the Industry. Brother B got through to the finals in Grenada’s Soca Monarch, also won third place in Grenada’s Village Soca Monarch and won best song at the Grenada’s Soca Monarch 2008. Brother B was named: Best overall artist in 2008, by Grenada’s Carnival Committee due to his versatility and positive lyrics. 2009 Brother B started the year with a performance in Canada in April. Fans were treated to a preview of one of his 2009 tracks. Brother B performed in London for the first time. To launch Grenada Carnival in London at an event organised by Grenada’s Minister of Culture May 23rd. May 30th Brother B performed at a new Music festival in Grenada called ‘Rock the Spice’ alongside Shaggy, Destra, Ajamu and Mr Killa. In June 2009 Brother B launched his second album called ‘One Step ahead’. This album is produced by a host of top producers including: Doggy productions, King Beats Studios, Island Traffic Entertainment and White Wine. Featured tracks ‘You make me go’ & ‘Whola’ exploded onto the scene and reached the soca charts in London and Canada. In September 2009 Brother B won two awards at London’s prestigious Soca Music Awards. Brother B won Best International Male and Best track for ‘Little Wine’ at the event. These categories are all voted by members of the public. This same year Brother B took part Grenada Soca Monarch finals with ‘Loose me’ a tracked produced by Jimmi King. The artist also travelled to London, USA and Canada for Soca events. In 2010 Brother B took part in Soca Monarch with his hit track ‘Tax on dat’ He also performed in London, USA and Canada. His tracks ‘I got to go’, Carnival Fever, Caribbean people and Fed up where huge hits in Grenada and across the world. 2011 represented Grenada at an event with Tallpree in Trinidad to promote Grenada Carnival alongside the Minister of Culture. He also represented Grenada at the Minister of Cultures Launch of Grenada carnival in London. Brother B released ‘Best of Brother B’ album with some of his classic hits and his new 2011 music. Which included tracks ‘Whine on it’ produced by SD Productions. Brother B performed in Grenada Carnival at various shows. He also attended In January 2012 Brother B was nominated from the NAACP image awards in Hollywood, USA for ‘Outstanding world music album’, for his album ‘Carnival Fever’. The nomination is the highest nomination in Soca music history for a full original soca album.
