From the onset of the Zilmrah project there was always one goal, which was to create a wide open sound that always evolves, grows and covers new territory. Founding member, Lawry Romani has assembled an open collective of unique musicians who all come from various musical backgrounds to cultivate an extremely intense yet organic sound that at times defies definition as it morphs through all barrier free genre. He builds his own tunable string and percussive instruments for the project to help perpetuate this mantra as well as to break away from musical habits found in conventional instrumentations and formats. The overall sound shape changes as a result of the energy being conveyed by the autonomous blending of different collaborators; thus enabling them to channel these individual energies toward pushing the sound somewhere it has not been or needs to visit. As of this writing, the current Zilmrah line up consists of Lawry Romani, David Tamura, Ernest Anderson III, Brett Zweiman and legendary power drummer Marc Edwards.
