简介
Sean Foster & the Vaqueros play a stripped-down style of psychedelic-troubadour. On the road is where Sean Foster and the Vaqueros find their cruising speed. Exuding the coolness of the hipster kids paired with the wisdom only vagabonds acquire, the trio are offering a documentary of their travels to Cuba, featuring all new music by the band, at La Vitrola on September 4th. Vacillating between folk and psychedelic influences, the troubadours manifest an authenticity and realness that' ll warm you up like the southern sun, leaving no room for language barriers. His roots set in rural Alberta where he grew up, Sean would later go on to set his horizons onto a faraway island in the Caribbean. Acquiring the taste for travel with his homegrown band 7and7is after touring the west coast extensively, Foster took root in Montreal where he was approached by George Donoso III(Sam Roberts, The Dears, Melissa Auf Der Maur) and Brian Smith (The Capones) to form what would become Sean Foster and the Vaqueros. Foster found an essential backing band in George's electric guitar skills and Brian's cajòn (spanish box) rhythms, forming the perfect backdrop to his unique guitar playing and vulnerable melodies that shake you down to the core. After the release of a first EP, "Hollow Woods" in 2013, Sean and his Vaqueros set foot on Cuban soil in early March bringing their sounds to Santa Clara and Sancti Spiritus' nightclubs, most of the time extending their jams onto the streets to the peoples insistence, keeping the music going well into the night. Here, you can watch the trailer to "Solidarity Rock", the musicians' documented journey of touring Cuba, including a new original soundtrack by the band. Cuba, si?!
